The catalogue is the list of books SalesYatra knows about. Reps pick titles from it on orders, requests and adoptions, and the price on an order always comes from here, never from the rep. Titles are grouped into series.

Every title belongs to one firm

The company bills through two firms, each with its own books, numbering and GSTIN. The Firm on a title decides which of them invoices it on a counter sale, a challan or a proforma. A field order is different: the warehouse chooses the firm when it records the dispatch, and that firm bills every book on it.

The firm list comes from the books. See Setup and How the books work.

Edit a title

Select the pencil on the title's row, change what you need, then select Save changes. Editing keeps the title's firm unless you pick another.

An order takes each title's list price when it is saved. A new price therefore reaches every order saved after the change, while orders already saved keep their price until they are next edited. Issued invoices never change.

Delete a title or a series

  • A title: select the bin on its row, then confirm. SalesYatra refuses the delete once the title is on an order, request, adoption or any other record, with "Cannot delete this title — other records still reference it."
  • A series: select the cross on its chip, then confirm. A series that still has titles in it can't be deleted.

There is no switch to retire a title from this screen. A title in use can't be deleted either, so check the ISBN and name before you save.

The register

The title list shows ISBN, Title, Author, Series, Class, Component, Firm and Price (INR). The search box matches title, ISBN and author, and the list shows 15 titles a page.
