Title & school billing
See what was billed title by title and school by school, net of returns, and which schools took each title.
/accounts/title-school-billingTitle & school billing answers two questions that the invoice list cannot answer without adding up order after order: how many copies of a title went out, and to which schools, and what each school took, title by title. It covers any period, and it counts returns.
One firm or both
The screen follows the switcher at the top. When it says Both firms, the figures cover both firms together, because a school's books can be billed by either firm. Choose one firm to see only its billing.
Choose a period
Pick the dates under from and to, or use This month, Last month or This year. This year is the financial year, April to March, and the screen opens on it.
Title-wise and school-wise
Choose Title-wise or School-wise above the table.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Title or School | The title with its ISBN, or the school with its city. A trade party billed directly is marked "Trade party" |
| Schools or Titles | How many schools took the title, or how many titles the school took |
| Billed, Billed value | Copies invoiced in the period, and their value |
| Returned, Returned value | Copies credited back on credit notes in the period, and their value |
| Net copies, Net value | Billed less returned |
Values are before tax and after discount, the same as in Item-wise sales. The titles or schools with the highest net value come first. To sort by another column, select its heading. To find a title by name or ISBN, or a school by name or city, use the search box.
The totals at the top cover everything in the period, whatever the search shows. The Total row under the table adds up only the rows on screen.
Open a title or a school
Select a title to see the schools that took it, with each school's copies and value. Select a school to see the titles it was billed for. A school's page also links to its Party statement. To go back to the full list, select All titles or All schools.
Whose figure a bill counts under
- A field order counts under the order's school, even when the order was billed to a dealer. This shows what the school took, whoever paid for it.
- A counter sale or a settled challan counts under the party on the invoice, whether a school or a trade party.
- A credit note follows the bill it reverses. A note against an order's invoice, or against an order's return, counts under that order's school. A return a trade party sends back on its own, such as an end-of-term bundle, counts under the trade party.
Cancelled invoices and credit notes are left out.
Export to Excel
Export to Excel downloads the firm and period on screen as a workbook with three sheets: By title, By school, and Title by school, which has one row for each title and school. Use the third sheet to filter or pivot the figures in other ways.
